PBS 106.7FM ‘Spaces Within Space’ Host and resident on both Skylab and Hope Street radios, Jazz is a well-seasoned selector in Naarm celebrated for her taste in odd-ball electronica. Her idiosyncratic style is a miasma of bleepy synthesisers, heavy basslines and psychedelic elements that, to the virgin listener, may seem like a recipe for mayhem but instead contorts into a delicious narrative of brooding textures and moody sonic artefacts ripe for dancing.

Beyond her extensive hours in the studio including her neat 12am Monday morning slot, Jazz has performed as a DJ across countless stages in Naarm now becoming a staple of the electronic music industry's best and most engaging parties. She’s ignited the booth at numerous local festivals from Something Unlimited to Daybreak, events from Club D’erange to Lucid Danceclub as well as multiple slots at the notorious Butter Sessions warehouse parties. Behind the decks her presence is both energetic and intoxicating as she masterfully jumps between BPMs and styles without so much as a sweat above the brow. Keenly, this technical finesse manifests itself in mind-bending mixes that maneuver across dub, electro, breakbeat and trance in an effort to invite the dancer to the same sort of astral plane she finds herself on.

While Jazz’s creative mixes have established herself as a rising and unstoppable force in the scene, there is more to be said about Jazz beyond her firm grip on electronic music. Notably, Jazz is passionate and dedicated to our local scene and tries to support the scene as much as possible whether that be through encouraging diversity in lineups or uplifting emerging artists on her PBS show through premiering their work or conducting interviews. It’s safe to say that a talent as committed as Jazz does not come around often, and we better hold onto her tight before she flies away.
